Families need support when navigating big changes. I learned that first hand as a child.

A conversation with KATHLEEN

What made you want to become a therapist?

Being a child of divorce showed me the negative and positive impact that families have on a person’s life. It challenged me to adjust to role changes within my family unit, but I was just a kid too. As I got older, this life event showed me the importance of support that families need when they go through big changes. I became a therapist because I wanted families going through tough transitions to feel supported and be given the proper tools to cope and eventually thrive again.

What do you do when you are not working?

I have a precious Irish Doodle named Jabroni who keeps me busy. I like to go on long walks with him. I love being outdoors and that’s when my Inner Girl Scout comes out. Yes, I can start a fire in the woods!

What is important to you when working with clients?

Being open and understanding is vital in therapy. I want my clients to feel more aligned with and comfortable showing their authentic selves.
