Anxiety therapy that goes deeper.
Understanding the ‘why’ to find lasting calm.

Maybe you feel like you need to be on good terms with everyone all the time. Or you text people back immediately because you don't want them thinking you don't care. Your anxiety makes you do things that temporarily put you at ease but you know that ease will quickly be replaced with something else to worry about.

The Landscape

What are the five types of anxiety disorders?

01
Generalized Anxiety Disorder
Feelings of anxiety and dread that are ongoing.
02
Panic Disorder
Sudden and unexpected periods of intense fear, loss of control, and discomfort even when there is no danger or trigger.
03
Social Anxiety Disorder
Intense fear of being judged by others.
04
Phobia-Related Disorders
Intense fear of a specific object or situation.
05
Separation Anxiety Disorder
Fear of being separated from people you are attached to, and worry that something will happen to them while separated.

Anxiety doesn't always announce itself. These are the most common patterns we work with each one shaped by its own story.

Anxiety shouldn't dictate your life

You want to care less about what people think and live without overthinking every decision.

We live in a stressful world, with all kinds of news at our fingertips. Anxiety treatment at Space to Reflect looks a little different than the traditional approach, which often focuses only on managing symptoms.

We help clients identify their triggers, but also explore why they are triggers in the first place. Anxiety can stem from family stress, life transitions, racial trauma, and not knowing how to emotionally regulate. The goal isn't to erase anxiety it's to understand it and manage it more effectively.

Can anxiety be cured with therapy?

Anxiety is part of life.

If the goal were to never feel anxious, we might be in danger and not know it. We also wouldn't feel the excited nerves before a big event. Eustress is the good kind of anxiety it keeps us alert and aware, and gets us excited about life.

Then there's the other kind the kind that feels like a ton of bricks on your chest. Constant overthinking, racing thoughts, catastrophizing. It prevents you from being present. While "curing anxiety" might feel like the goal, what we really want is to learn how to manage it.

We teach you practical tools

You'll learn evidence-based techniques to manage anxious thoughts and physical symptoms in the moment grounding techniques, cognitive reframing, somatic exercises, and ways to challenge catastrophic thinking.

We help you identify your triggers

Rather than just teaching you breathing exercises and coping skills (though we do that too), we explore the root causes of your anxiety. We help you understand how your upbringing, cultural background, family dynamics, and life experiences have shaped your relationship with anxiety.

We work within your cultural context

Cultural and family expectations can be a significant source of anxiety, especially for children of immigrants or people from collectivist cultures. We help you navigate the tension between honoring your cultural values and caring for your mental health.

You deserve to feel calm. You deserve to make decisions without second-guessing yourself constantly. You deserve to be present in your life without anxiety stealing your joy.
