Affordable Therapy: Working with a Clinical Intern
What is a Clinical Intern?
Our clinical interns are advanced graduate students currently completing their Master’s degrees in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Social Work. They have completed extensive academic coursework and are now entering the final, practical phase of their training.
Interns bring fresh perspectives, a deep commitment to their clients, and cutting-edge knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic techniques to their sessions.
The Benefits of the Intern Model
When you work with a clinical intern, you aren't just getting the support of one person, you are getting a dedicated team.
Expert Supervision: Every intern at our practice is closely supervised by a fully licensed, experienced therapist. Your intern regularly reviews their clinical work with their supervisor to ensure you receive the highest standard of care.
Collaboration & Care: Your case benefits from the combined insights, experience, and energy of both the intern and a seasoned professional.
Affordable Rates: Because interns are completing their training, we are able to offer their services at a significantly reduced, low-fee rate. This makes private-pay therapy a sustainable option if you do not have insurance or prefer not to use it. Intern rates are between $40-$60 per session.
Is Intern Therapy Right for Me?
Our interns are fully equipped to help individuals, couples, and families navigating a wide range of life transitions and challenges, including:
Managing daily stress and anxiety
Navigating relationship and communication struggles
Coping with life transitions (college, career shifts)
Building self-esteem and setting boundaries
Please Note: Because interns are still in training and work under a supervisor's license, the intern model is best suited for mild-to-moderate mental health concerns. If you are experiencing complex trauma, severe clinical symptoms, or an active crisis, we will gladly connect you with one of our fully licensed specialists to ensure you get the level of care you need.
